Following the fight Higgins and Eliza have in act four, Eliza leaves. At this point, it is understood that much will change in the relationship between Eliza and Higgins and Pickering. It is evident that she will retain some independence from them and most likely live apart. Furthermore, it squashes the possibility that she will marry one of them.
